What Is Personal Information

“Personal Information” includes any and all information that can be used to identify you including but not limited to your first and last name, telephone number, email addresses, social security and credit card numbers.

How We Collect Personal Info

Information You Provide. We may receive and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way including but not limited to phone call, text message, email, voicemail, and video chat.

Third Party Data Providers.  To obtain accurate insurance rates SureUp will obtain Personal Information from third party data providers of motor vehicle, credit, prior insurance, claims and other reports.  This is a standard industry practice and many, if not most, insurance companies require these reports before issuing a policy.  

Social Media Data. If you use social media, we may access information about you in accordance with the social media provider's policies.  Social media data is not shared with insurance companies; it is used internally to enhance our marketing activities and user experience.

Why We Collect Personal Information

How We Share Personal Information

Information Shared with Insurance Companies.  We share data necessary to quote, issue and service insurance policies.  

Information Shared with Third Party Data Providers. We share some of the Personal Information you provide to with third party data providers so that we may obtain reports with additional Personal Information (e.g. motor vehicle, credit and prior claims reports) needed to determine insurance eligibility and calculate insurance rates.

Information Shared with Insurance Software Companies. When your data passes between us and insurance companies it does so with the help of a few third party companies on the insurance information superhighway.  We keep the number of partners to a minimum.  And they’ve been carefully selected.

Information Shared With Employees and Contractors. Employees and contractors of SureUp may have access to your Personal Information for the purpose of performing services on behalf of SureUp.  All who have access to such information are asked to keep the information confidential and not use it for any other purpose than to carry out the services they are performing.

Sharing in Other Circumstances

Additionally, we may share non-personal and personal information in the event of any of the following:

Not Personal Information

We may collect and use data including but not limited to technical information about your device(s), system and application software, and peripherals, and information on our server logs from your browser, which could include your IP address, cookie information, browser information, and the page you request when you visit the Website.

International Transfers

Personal Information collected through the Service may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which The Zebra or its affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or contractors maintain facilities, and by using the Service, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.
